Designed specifically for beginners to intermediate hikers, this program helps you gain the confidence and fitness needed to enjoy the great outdoors.

Why Hiking is Great for Beginners

1. Health Benefits:

  • Physical Fitness: Hiking is a great cardiovascular workout that strengthens muscles and improves endurance. Studies show that regular physical activity like hiking can reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, and help manage weight.
  • Weight Loss: Hiking burns calories and boosts metabolism. Research indicates that an hour of hiking can burn between 430-700 calories, depending on the difficulty and your weight.
  • Improved Balance and Flexibility: Navigating uneven terrain improves balance, coordination, and flexibility.

2. Mental and Emotional Well-being:

  • Stress Reduction: Spending time in nature reduces stress hormones. A study from Stanford University found that walking in nature decreases anxiety and negative thoughts.
  • Enhanced Mood: Outdoor activities release endorphins, improving mood and combating depression.
  • Boosted Confidence: Achieving hiking goals can significantly improve self-esteem and confidence. We have heard from many women that they have stopped hiking because of fear of slowing others down. That affects us socially and mentally as well. We want your confidence to allow you to say YES to things that are good for your body and your soul!

3. Social Connection:

  • Community Support: Join a group of like-minded beginners, making new friends and enjoying the camaraderie.
  • Guidance and Encouragement: Our program includes guided hikes, so you’ll always have support and motivation.
