Strategy Session at NHF | Helping you with Real Progress Beyond the Scale

A Strategy Session isn’t about weighing in. It’s a coaching conversation to help you get stronger, build confidence, and make real, lasting health improvements that we track, by helping you with strategy for life outside of the gym. Because you do spend more time outside of the gym walls than you do in them. So let’s optimize that effort as well!

Let’s be real. It’s frustrating when you’re doing everything right, like showing up, eating better, staying consistent but the scale just won’t budge. You’re not imagining it. That frustration is valid. Especially when you’re looking for weight loss and the scale makes you feel like it’s not working.

We hear that. We understand that. And we care about that.

At Northglenn Health and Fitness (NHF), we’ve coached hundreds of women who’ve been stuck in that same pattern and we’ve helped them break it by showing them a way to measure progress that isn’t just about the scale. Not instead of weight loss, but alongside it, IF that’s what you need. Not instead of results, but with more honest results.

Here’s the thing to consider: if you only measure success by what the scale says, you’re missing all the ways your body and life are changing. And honestly? It’s not a fair scoreboard. Because when you are working on your health, you will get healthier and the better your body works, the more your metabolism will work.

It’s called a Strategy Session.

Why We Do Strategy Sessions

Every 6–12 weeks, we sit down together for what we call a Strategy Session. It’s a coaching session that gives you a dedicated time to reflect, share wins and struggles, and plan the next phase of your journey. Including strategy changes for in or outside the gym that can help support your goals.

We use our NHF Impact framework to help you focus on habits that support the areas that will be most IMPACTful to your goals.

These Strategy Sessions are different from your programming calls. Programming calls are for you and your coach to talk about workouts and short-term adjustments. Strategy Sessions are about you, your journey, how you’re feeling, and how you’re living and if any changes need to be made, in and out of the gym.

Two Ways to Do Your Strategy Session

Option A: Strategy Session

Prefer not to focus on body composition numbers? No problem. We’ll book a time that fits your day (no fasting needed) and use that time to focus on your energy, strength, confidence, consistency, and life wins. We’ll also tackle any life or mindset struggles that could be affecting your health outside of the gym like sleep, stress, schedule, nutrition and we’ll work on the strategy together. We use our NHF Impact framework to guide this conversation and look for simple wins to get you closer to your goals.

Option B: Strategy Session + Body Composition Scan

This strategy coaching session gives you everything in Option A along with a deeper look at your body composition (muscle mass in total and by limb, body fat %, water, body fat in lbs). We’ll schedule a morning appointment before you eat, drink, or exercise to ensure accurate results. You come in, take your shoes and socks off, use our wipes to remove oils from your skin for more accurate results and the scan takes less than 1 minutes. After the scan, the machine will produce a report that we’ll review together and come up with a plan to address anything you want to see changed.

Why We Give You the Choice of a coaching Strategy session with or without a body composition scan.

Because progress isn’t always visible on the scale, and sometimes focusing too much on that number takes away from the confidence and strength you’ve built.

But if weight loss is part of your goal for whatever reason that’s okay too. It is not a goal for everyone. We’ll talk about it without judgment, validate how you feel, and zoom out to help you see how far you’ve come.

We encourage you to compare you today vs you on day one instead of comparing your progress to someone else’s. You are not your sister, your brother, your partner, an Instagram ad, or some chart. Real progress is how you are doing today vs when you started.

What We Cover in a coached Strategy Session

• How do you feel? Energy? Mood? Stress?
• What strength or movement wins have you felt lately and what have the coaches noticed?
• Are you noticing changes in daily life like stairs, play, energy, ability to do more with more energy?
• What nutrition or lifestyle shifts are helping (or not)?
• Any medical feedback or milestones worth noting?
• What’s been hard or frustrating lately?
• [If InBody]: What does your scan show and what does it actually mean?
• What are our focus points for the next 6–12 weeks?
• Schedule your next session before you leave.

Why We Schedule the Next One At the End of the Strategy Session

Because momentum matters. Progress doesn’t happen randomly. It happens with consistency in the habits that will work best for your lifestyle and that are directly tied to your goals. When you leave here with an exact to do list, booking your next session keeps you anchored, focused, and with a plan that has hope. And it reminds you: you’re not doing this alone.

Strategy Session ≠ Programming Call

Programming calls are tactical: form tweaks, workout adjustments, short-term goals. Strategy Sessions are bigger picture, NHF Impact stuff: mindset, life progress, long-term trajectory. You need both to stay on track.
