Maybe you’ve sat in your car for a few minutes before going inside.
Maybe you’ve wondered if you’re wearing the right thing.
Maybe you’re worried you won’t know what you’re doing.
Maybe you’ve walked into a gym and felt like everyone else already knew what to do except you.
Or maybe you’ve had an experience where you actually were judged, ignored, embarrassed, or made to feel like you didn’t belong.
We’re not going to tell you that’s all in your head.
Because sometimes gyms are intimidating.
And telling someone, “Nobody is paying attention to you anyway,” doesn’t make walking through that door any easier. All it did for me was solidify for me that I was the only person who understood how I was feeling. Everyone else just dismissed my concerns.
We built Northglenn Health and Fitness to be intentional about making women feel welcome ,ESPECIALLY when they are new, or new again to fitness.
What are WE doing to make sure you feel safe walking through our doors?
Meet Abbey.

Abbey comes into Northglenn Health and Fitness carrying approximately two things:
Her water bottle.
And a whole lot of enthusiasm. đ
She might be learning something completely new that day. She might be working on a skill she’s practiced before. She might have a fantastic workout. She might have a day where things feel harder than they did last time.
But Abbey isn’t there to prove that she’s better than the woman training next to her.
And that woman isn’t expected to keep up with Abbey.
That’s intentional.
But she didn’t start off before we met her this confident. She was also nervous about going to the gym.
We Don’t Want You Competing for Your Place Here
At NHF, we work with a lot of women who are new to strength training or coming back to it after years away.
That’s one reason we don’t put everyone through the same workout and expect you to keep up.
There’s no leaderboard telling you where you rank compared to everyone else.
We’re not going to celebrate one person for lifting the most weight while leaving someone else wondering whether what she did was “good enough.”
Because how could we possibly compare the two?
Maybe one woman is learning to deadlift for the first time.
Another woman is rebuilding strength after an injury.
Someone else wants to be able to get herself off the floor more easily.
Another wants to carry her suitcase into an overhead bin when she travels.
And somebody else might want to lift something REALLY freaking heavy because that makes her feel like a badass.
Cool.
Those are five different people who need five different versions of success.
Your coach’s job isn’t to make you perform like everyone else.
It’s to understand what you want to be able to do and coach you toward it.
And your coach will be there to guide you through that workout built for you, every step of the way!
A Judgment Free Gym Doesn’t Happen Because You Put It on a Sign
This part matters to us.
We don’t just say NHF is a safe, supportive place and hope everybody behaves accordingly.
We protect it.
It’s one of the reasons we talk to every prospective client over the phone before they ever walk through our doors.
We want to know who you are, what you’re looking for, and whether NHF is the right environment for you.
And you’re interviewing us, too.
Because not every gym is right for every person.
If what you’re looking for is competition, comparing your workout results to everyone around you, and trying to get your name to the top of a leaderboard, there are gyms that do that really well.
We don’t. I didn’t like that environment so I built a place for me, for Abbey, and maybe for you.
We built NHF for something different.
We Want You to Be Able to Walk Through the Door and Just Be YOU
You don’t need to get in shape before you come here.
You don’t need to know how to use the equipment.
You don’t have to prove that you’re serious enough.
You don’t have to earn your spot by lifting a certain amount of weight.
And you certainly don’t have to become Abbey.
Abbey gets to be Abbey.
You get to be you.
Your coach gets to know your body, your history, your goals, your starting point, and the things you want your body to be able to do outside of this gym.
Then we coach from there.
And over time, something pretty cool can happen.
The door that once felt intimidating starts to feel familiar.
You know your coaches.
You recognize the women training around you.
They recognize you.
You know where to put your stuff.
You know somebody is expecting you.
You know there’s a workout waiting for you that was created not just with you in mind but for YOU.
And eventually, you might walk through that same door carrying nothing but your water bottle and a little smile of your own.
That’s what we wanted to build when we opened Northglenn Health and Fitness in Northglenn, Colorado.
Not a room full of equipment.
Not a leaderboard.
A place where women can feel safe, accepted, and valued while becoming stronger than they thought possible.
That’s NHF.
If that sounds like the kind of gym you’ve been looking for, your first step isn’t a workout.
It’s just a conversation. Book a call with one of our owners here, it’s just 10 minutes and it’s much easier than driving all over the place. We always want to save you time.
