1. Why did you become a personal trainer?

I became a personal trainer and nutrition coach because I know exactly how it feels to be stuck—not knowing where to begin, and being told by a doctor to “just stop” when something hurts. I spent years trapped in the cycle of a sedentary life, clinging to the phrase, “my doctor told me not to do that,” while feeling my quality of life slowly drain away. Now I understand my doctor wasn’t telling me to stop moving—they were urging me to move smarter and get stronger. I just wasn’t ready to hear it then. I hear it now—and I desperately want to help others hear it too.

2. What’s your personal journey with fitness?

Great question—I’ll make a deal with you, I’ll give you a preview, and when you meet me, ask about my journey. It’s raw, real, and proof that transformation is not only possible, but that it is never too late to start!

This journey didn’t start with the goal of getting stronger—it started through extreme life circumstances and losing weight. In 2009, I was at my highest weight, 270 lbs, which is when I started working on my nutrition, then in 2021 I started to work in my cardio endurance. It wasn’t until 2021, when life hit me hard, that I knew I had to make serious changes if I wanted any real quality of life and that I needed help  to do this. Strength and whole body fitness was introduced to me, which soon became my outlet, my therapy, and eventually, my transformation. It helped me process, heal, and reconnect with my own physical and mental strength. Now I draw on my own experiences to help others rediscover their strength.

3. Why did you choose to coach women in personal training sessions at Northglenn Health and Fitness?

I chose Northglenn Health and Fitness because it’s more than just a gym—it’s a place that gets it. It’s full of people who are showing up for themselves no matter where they’re starting from. I felt seen and supported here, and I wanted to be part of that kind of energy. NHF is welcoming, empowering, and unapologetically authentic.

Coach Dion is in this video below, highlighting her time at NHF as a client. She continued on as a client well after that and NOW she’s not just a client, she’s also a Coach that wants your story to be next!

4. Describe your coaching style.

I am still learning my coaching style, I try to meet everyone where they are, feel out what they need and how they need it. This looks different for everyone. I try to coach with empathy, directness—and just enough humor to keep it fun. With me you can always expect quirky and relatable cues, silly or out-of-the-box modifications, and most importantly… zero judgment!

5. Where can we find you when you’re not at the gym?

You’ll find me drawing, building automated spreadsheets (I can seriously get lost in the fun of both—LOL), hiking or biking with Jay, my daughter, and our dogs, or capturing videos of my grumpy, silly bird being delightfully weird. I’m a neurodivergent (ADHD) obsessed with learning and all things self-expression, self-discovery, and transformational. Helping people step into their strength and feel empowered—that’s what gratifies me most. Well… that and snacks, with the occasional awkward dance break.

Personal Training and Nutrition – Piece by Piece

Coach Dion didn’t just find strength—she built it. Piece by piece, through real life, real challenges, and real change. And now she’s on the other side, ready to help you do the same.

She’s not a personal trainer that is here to shout at you, push you into extremes, or pretend fitness is easy. She’s here to coach you every step of the way. Even if you are just trying to believe in yourself again.

We’re so happy to have her coaching here at NHF, because we know how impactful it can be when someone else says, “I’ve been there—and I’ve got you.”
